Time-Sensitive Networking
What is TSN?
TSN ensures that critical data is transmitted with minimal data loss, latency, and with high priority, thereby improving overall network performance.
TSN makes it possible to synchronize clocks across devices, reserve bandwidth for important data, and prioritize its transmission over less critical information.
This makes TSN essential for applications requiring precise timing and synchronization, such as industrial automation, autonomous driving and real-time audio/video streaming.

What TSN Does?
| Technology | Description |
|---|---|
| TAS — Time-Aware Shaper | Schedules time-critical Ethernet traffic into dedicated time slots to ensure deterministic, low-latency communication. |
| CBS — Credit-Based Shaper | Regulates Ethernet traffic using a credit-based mechanism to reduce congestion and provide predictable bandwidth for high-priority data. |
| FRER — Frame Replication and Elimination for Reliability | Improves network reliability by sending duplicate frames over separate paths so communication can continue even if one path fails. |
| YANG / NETCONF / RESTCONF | Provides standardized models and interfaces for configuring, managing, and dynamically controlling TSN network devices. |
