The platform behind software updates for vehicles, industrial systems, robots, appliances, and connected devices.
tQCS works with LG Electronics as a global partner for the OTA/DM solution, bringing it to customers outside LG. LG develops and operates the platform; tQCS handles the customer-facing work — evaluating fit, integrating the solution into the customer's hardware and infrastructure, and supporting it afterwards.
Key Advantages
LG's OTA solution stands out in five areas:
1. Multi-OS Support
The same core has been ported to Linux, Android, Windows, real-time operating systems, AUTOSAR, and LG's own device platforms. Each new target sits on a core that has already shipped in products on all of these environments through a porting layer. The same core also runs on gateways: an OTA gateway receives one delta package from the cloud and passes it to the devices behind it on the local network, which keeps traffic down and lets rollback reach the whole device tree.
Gateway Delta Upgrade: the OTA gateway receives one delta package from the cloud and redistributes it to devices on the local network.
2. End-to-End Secured OTA
LG OTA delivers end-to-end security from package generation through on-device installation, including package signing, industry-standard encryption, and integrity verification. The vehicle line adds Uptane plus AUTOSAR-compliant integration.
3. Patented Update Technology
LG holds patents on how updates are made small enough for low-resource devices and how they are distributed without paying for the same data twice.
Lightweight Delta Upgrade (US 12,001,834): updates devices that do not have the memory or processing headroom to unpack a normal update package.
Gateway Delta / Collective Update (US 12,073,207): one package is sent to a site and redistributed locally, so cloud traffic does not scale with the number of devices.
Blockchain-based peer-to-peer update method (PCT/KR2026/096618, pending): devices share update data with each other to cut delivery cost further.
4. AI Assistant OTA
LG OTA provides AI-assisted features that help simplify OTA campaign management and improve operational efficiency through intelligent assistance and automation. A portal-embedded chatbot lets operators check campaign status and trigger actions using natural language, while an agentic layer monitors live deployment success rates and automatically re-plans rollout priority and timing for underperforming groups. This reduces manual monitoring and report-writing, letting operators supervise and approve rather than manage every step by hand
LG also provides virtual OTA testing through LCOS (LG Common OTA Validation Platform). LCOS executes test scenarios against simulated targets, helping reproduce conditions such as interrupted downloads, delayed server responses, and unexpected ECU responses.
