HMI & 3D UI

HMI & 3D UI Technology Assessment & Migration Workshop

As part of our Technology Assessment & Migration Workshop, tQCS helps engineering teams evaluate modern technologies for embedded HMI, graphical user interfaces and real-time graphics. We assess how technologies such as Slint, Flutter, Qt, Vulkan and Fuchsia fit with existing embedded environments including Embedded Linux, Yocto, Wayland, OpenGL/ES and C++-based systems.

Through technical assessment and code-level validation, we help customers compare technology options, identify migration challenges and determine whether a new framework, graphics API or platform is suitable for their product before committing significant engineering resources.

Typical workshop engagements include:

  • 2–3-day on-site technical introduction and assessment workshop
  • Research and development for technology applicability and migration strategy
  • 2–13 weeks of code-level proof-of-concept and technical validation

Slint

Embedded UI Framework

Slint is a lightweight, native GUI toolkit for embedded, desktop and mobile applications. It separates UI design from application logic and supports integration with C++, Rust, JavaScript and Python. Its low resource requirements and support for Embedded Linux and microcontroller environments make it particularly relevant when evaluating efficient HMI architectures for resource-constrained devices.

Flutter / Dart

Cross-Platform UI Framework

Flutter is a cross-platform UI framework built around the Dart programming language. In addition to mobile and desktop applications, the Flutter engine can be embedded into custom devices and operating environments, making it an option for next-generation HMI development. tQCS can evaluate its architecture, portability, development workflow and performance against established embedded UI solutions such as Qt.

Qt

Embedded HMI & 2D/3D UI

Qt is a widely adopted cross-platform framework for embedded HMI and graphical application development. Qt Quick and QML support modern declarative UI development, while Qt Quick 3D enables 2D and 3D content to be combined within a unified application. Qt 6 supports modern graphics backends including OpenGL, Vulkan, Metal and Direct3D, making Qt suitable for high-performance embedded and automotive HMI systems.

Vulkan

Graphics & Rendering API

Vulkan is a cross-platform graphics and compute API developed by the Khronos Group. It provides low-level access to modern GPU capabilities and gives developers greater control over rendering performance and resource management. For embedded HMI and real-time 3D applications, tQCS can assess Vulkan adoption, rendering architecture, platform compatibility and migration from existing OpenGL or OpenGL ES implementations.

Fuchsia

Embedded Platform

Fuchsia is a modern open-source operating system developed by Google for a diverse range of hardware and software environments. Its architecture and modern graphics stack make it relevant when evaluating future embedded platforms and UI architectures. tQCS can assess Fuchsia from the perspective of platform applicability, graphics requirements, application architecture and migration strategy for embedded products.
