Flutter is a cross-platform UI framework chiefly developed by Google using the Dart language and runtime, also chiefly developed by Google. Current focus is on cross-platform mobile development but embedded and desktop are in scope and actively developed by others (Sony, Toyota, Microsoft, Canonical). The licensing is very liberal and uptake across various industries is very good, the ecosystem already very large. It is heavily used inside Google already. Proofs of concept and comparison of performance metrics with other solutions like Qt are advisable at this stage.​ ​

Qt is a cross-platform GUI framework that became well known in the embedded linux thru its eclipse-binding with its own IDE, Qt Creator. Since Qt5, it introduced QPA(Qt abstraction layer) to support QML(Qt markup language) that is similar with Flutter and HTML, while performant running on C++ for embedded devices. For applications on Linux devices with high-end CPU, Qt supports beautiful HMI design in both 2D and 3D. Qt3D in particular supports glTF2 which integrates seamlessly with Kuesa for 3D Studio.

​Vulkan is the new graphics standard developed by Khronos which is on track to replace OpenGL. Apple uses something very similar called Metal, an implementation of Vulkan on top of Metal exists for compatibility (MoltenVK). Microsoft uses something very similar called Direct3D 12, but Vulkan drivers for Windows are readily available. Vulkan is on the verge of being used in production on Embedded Linux and is support by all major higher level graphics frameworks, including Qt. ​

It was developed by Mozilla for use in Firefox but is now accepted also into the Linux Kernel and into the Android base operating system. It has a quickly growing and enthusiastic following.

Fuchsia is the heir apparent to Android, a new operating system kernel developed by Google and released under very liberal licenses. It support Rust and Go for lower levels and Dart/Flutter for the UI. Still in research phases and not adopted in production even by Google yet. It might become relevant as a replacement OS for embedded Linux down the road. It heavily leverages Vulkan for the graphics layer.
