KDE (https://kde.org/) is an international free software community developing Free and Open Source software. As a central development hub, it provides tools and resources that allow collaborative work on this kind of software. Well-known products include the Plasma Desktop, KDE Frameworks and a range of cross-platform applications like Krita or digikam designed to run on Unix and Unix-like desktops, Microsoft Windows and Android.
Being one of KDE's most recognized projects, the Plasma Desktop is the default desktop environment on many Linux distributions, such as openSUSE, Mageia, Manjaro, Netrunner, OpenMandriva, Chakra, Kubuntu, KaOS, PCLinuxOS and KDE Neon (based on the Ubuntu LTS release)(1). tQCS works with plentiful of brilliant developers contributing on their codes and ideas to KDE, providing users control, freedom and privacy. In doing so, it leverages and implement key reference design and codes of those open-source projects to the user. KDAB has on-going contributions to KDE projects, including but not limited to Calligra (a.k.a. “Koffice”) on core components for word and spreadsheet applications, Kmail, Okular, Kdevelop (a cross platform IDE), Plazma (a desktop operating system for Linux) and KDE Frameworks (a set of core libiraries use by KDE applications). KDAB also supports Linux distribution used in the Munich municipal administration (a.k.a. “LiMux”), adding new features and bug-fixes on various applications, including LibreOffice (https://www.kdab.com/libreoffice-and-plasma/) tQCS-KDAB leverage the power of KDE hands and codes to give a life to software ecosystems. |
